Miracle League Ride
A Baseball League that gives ALL handicapped children the chance to play baseball regardless of their disabilities; this includes children who are blind-C- have Autism-C- Down’s syndrome-C- Cerebral Palsy-C- and even children who are wheelchair bound. ~
~
Volunteer “buddies” assist the “athletes” (not handicapped children as they are known the rest of their lives) with batting-C- pitching-C- and rounding the bases. At the end of 2 innings the game is finished with both teams winning with a tie score. This is because ALL of the athletes are winners! Every game includes the National Anthem-C- live announcing and introduction of each player at bat-C- and even the song “Take Me Out to the Ballgame!” Of course-C- the players congratulate each other at the end of every game.~
~
Day of the Miracle League Ride~
Before the game the athletes will visit with the motorcycle riders and be able to sit on their bikes.~
Each athlete will be given a toy motorcycle to take home in remembrance of the day’s events.~
~
Why the MLT needs our help:~
This organization is non-profit. There are over 200 Miracle League organizations across the country. There are currently 100 fields under construction. Donations provide for uniforms-C- equipment-C- and specialized fields that are designed specifically for handicapped children.~
~
The Miracle League of the Triangle needs our help to expand! There are over 20 teams in our area and there are many more children who want to join! We want to help provide the uniforms-C- equipment-C- and fields so that all children who want to will have the chance to play!~
~
How you can help:~
We are asking the community to help by making corporate or personal monetary donations or by donating door prizes/gift certificates to be given out at the end of the ride. 100-%- of money raised will go directly to the Miracle League of the Triangle.~
~
1 - Money:~
We will have a great looking Miracle League Ride T-shirt that will be sold at the event. A $250.00 minimum donation is required for your name or company name to be proudly displayed on the shirt. There are also two $500.00 spots one of each for each sleeve. ~
Even after the spots on the shirt are sold out we will still be excepting cash donations. Recognition will be give to all large donors.~
~
2 - Ideas for Door Prizes ~
and Gifts Certificates:~
Gift cards of $50.00 with t-shirt from your company~
Merchandise from your company~
Vacations and rentals~

~
3 - Getting the word out about the Miracle League Ride:~

History of ~
The Miracle League~
~
~
Late in 2004-C- after seeing a program about the Miracle League on television-C- local businessmen Robin Rose and Tony Withers were inspired to establish the Miracle League of the Triangle. The principle was simple: to provide children with special needs the opportunity to play America`s Favorite past-time... the game of Baseball. The hope was to have 40 children (4 teams) and over 100 volunteers for Opening Day.~
~
On September 16-C- 2006-C- The Miracle League of the Triangle opened its first season with over 100 players (8 teams) and over 200 volunteers from throughout the Triangle.~
~
On April 14-C- 2007-C- we proudly celebrated both the dedication of our field to our Founding Field Sponsor //Andy`s Foundation// and our growth to over 160 children (12 teams) with over 300 volunteers.~
~
Less than eight years later-C- a second field was built in north Raleigh. Between the 2 locations we serve nearly 400 children with special needs each season on 30 teams. Approximately 4000 volunteer opportunities exist each year. Our next step of growth is in the planning stages. We want to open an adult league in the spring of 2015. ~
~
There are approximately 250 Miracle League organizations across the United States-C- Puerto Rico-C- Canada-C- and Australia-C- serving more than 200-C-000 children with disabilities worldwide.~

How ~
No Rules Riders® ~
Became Involved~
~
~
Early 2005-C- Morgan and Rebecca Kemmeries became volunteers at Miracle League of the Triangle with their grandmother-C- Brookshire McDonald. They quickly caught baseball fever and fell in love with the kids! Soon they were dubbed co-captains of the Devil Ray team. And their //Geegee// became the unofficial signer of the Star Spangled Banner! Their parents-C- Michael and Wynne-C- joined in on the fun! ~
~
In 2006-C- Michael Kemmeries and JD Long decided that No Rules Riders® should do their first ever motorcycle benefit ride. The Miracle League of the Triangle was the obvious choose. In a period of 5 weeks-C- the ride was planned and became a success with the help of others from the No Rules Riders® group. it was then that No Rules Riders® became an official sponsor of the Orioles of The Miracle League of the Triangle.~
~
In 2008-C- the date of the annual ride permanently became the weekend before the Capital City Bikefest in September.

NRR Remembrance Ride
~
Good day and God bless to all! Just wanted to give everyone an update on this year`s NRR`S Remembrance Ride! !!! As you may know like last year we started to make the Remembrance Ride a TRUE Remembrance Ride! Not only do we remember all fallen NRR brothers and sisters but we also dedicate the ride to a specific fallen brother or sister. Last year we remembered 2 fallen members. This year`s ride is going to be dedicated to our fallen brother Kirk Wynn!!! He was known to alot of NRR members and others as well. He was a very if not one of Capt. Kemmeries best friend! I had the pleasure along with Capt. Kemmeries to meet Kirk`s parents and sit a chat with them. They are soo honored and tbrilled to know that we are doing this for their son that they have requested that we end up at their home for a celebration cookout! Kirk`s ashes are at their home as well as well as his best friend Harley whuch was his dog. Both of their ashes are in the same location which i want to keep it as a surprise to whoever doesn`t know. You you find out the dwy of ride. We will meet at MoonRunners around 11 am. KSU@ Noon. I want to plan a nice ride similar to what Kirk was taken on for his FINAL ride that he requested. I will plan this with Capt. Kemmeries-C- Turkey girl and our road capt. Tim. After nice ride we will head back to Kirk`s parents house in Fuquay-Varina where we will have a cookout. I`m in talks to get a nice spread so if anyone wants to make a dish for that day please let me know and I will make arrangements to get out to everyone day before and pick up dish to take to Kirk`s parents house. I`m working on seeing if anyone wants to volunteer day off to stay back and help set up that day so all is ready by the time bikers get in from ride. They have grill but I`m looming for someone with a big grill or cooker who would cook that day. NRR Will provide all meats to cook. Oh yeah!!!!! Eventhough Kirk`s parents are religious they welcome us all to celebrate their son`s day. They just ask that WE provide All Drinks that we like!!!!! So BYOB! They have some coolers as well so we need ICE! to get drinks cold! There is a Foodlion very close to them so if we need anything we can make a run! ~
So....please pass the word around on any and all social media please!!!! June 6th. ....We will also present parents with plaque and flowers from NRR also I`m working on giving them something special also to remember that Kirk was and will be an NRR always! So.....remember! !! I need some dishes and volunteers for that day with 4 wheelers to set up. Thank you all. Looking forward to making this day a true day to remember! !!!!! I will update and remind all as day gets closer! ~

Planning on meeting up at Bojangles on HWY 42-C-just off I40E exit 312 at 8am-C- leaving by 8:30am. The address is 5497 NC 42 Garner-C-NC 27529. There is a gas station next door to fuel up before we leave. I know it`s an early meet time-C-but given the distance we will be going and back-C-puts us back at Bojangles about 5- 6pm. After leaving Bojangles at 8:30 am -C- we will travel down NC 50-C- NC 210-C- NC 87 and NC 401 into SC where we will have lunch at Spiro`s Wingz and Ale on US 15. They are rated 4 out of 5 stars for food and service! Spiro`s is only around 15-20 miles over the state line-C-but as soon as we cross the line i will be signaling to PULL OVER-C- so that those that want to can remove their helmets! You DO NOT have to ride without a helmet if you don`t want to-C-just come along for the ride and being with friends! After leaving Spiro`s we will have about 55 miles to ride without helmets before crossing the state line again. Due to time and wanting to have more than 15 miles of ride time without helmets-C- after crossing the line coming back we will have about 50 miles on I95 and I40 before arriving at Bojangles on 42. There will be a stop on the way to Spiro`s-C-probably about half way which is 70 miles. The again we will have a stop on the way back. From Bojangles To lunch stop in SC is 138 miles-C- then the route from there to way back to Bojangles is 169 miles. Lets put some miles on our bikes before the winter sets in!!!! Looking forward to seeing all that can make it. Right now we have about 8 people going! Any questions please contact me at JimNC@norulesriders.com.~

As the days of summer leave us-C- we thought we should get all of the riding days that we can before the really cold weather gets here. The last couple of weeks have brought several emotions to all of us-C- and most of them have not been good. As we get together and ride through natures changing seasons-C- we must remember all of our brothers and sisters that have left us. We know that they ride with us all in spirit and they will greatly missed.~

HISTORICAL INFORMATION~
Created as a planned city in 1792-C- the area now known as Raleigh-C- N.C.-C- was a handful of sparse settlements as early as the 1760s. Enterprising landholders like Isaac Hunter and Joel Lane owned large tracts of farmland and operated taverns near their homes to accommodate travelers along the main north-south route cutting through central North Carolina. Wake Crossroads-C- as it was called-C- provided a foundation for Raleigh`s development.~
By the late 1780s-C- North Carolina`s general assembly recognized the need for a permanent location to conduct state government. Prior to this-C- the state capital had been hosted by several existing cities. Rather than select one of these communities-C- the legislature decided to build a new and more-centrally located city. Eight commissioners were appointed to choose a location for the new capital. On March 30-C- 1792-C- they purchased 1-C-000 acres from Joel Lane and a plan was quickly developed.~
The city grew slowly. The original state house-C- built in 1794-C- provided a physical location for government business and a center for the community`s social life. Over time-C- a number of inns-C- taverns-C- dry-goods stores-C- coffin houses and brickyards were established to support the burgeoning city. Until the Civil War-C- these businesses catered mostly to retail customers. Fayetteville Street became Raleigh`s commercial core as storefronts began to replace residences along the blocks south of the State Capitol. In addition to downtown commerce-C- a handful of mills and new ventures-C- such as the Raleigh -And- Gaston Railroad-C- completed the composition of the early city.~
Raleigh emerged from the Civil War physically unscathed and a new era unfolded. An effort to establish cotton mills and other industries here failed. However-C- a plethora of family-owned businesses flourished and dominated the downtown. In the 19th century-C- Raleigh witnessed a wave of publishing enterprises from newspapers and printers to bookbinders. As the century progressed-C- innovations including the Raleigh Street Railway-C- a waterworks and electric lights fundamentally altered the city`s way of life.~
The cemetery-C- located in a relatively isolated area-C- contains a large Georgian Revival lodge and is defined by a masonry enclosure wall. Raleigh National Cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.~
Monuments and Memorials~
The Artillery Monument is a black-C- wrought iron cannon mounted on a cement pedestal donated in the late 1890’s.~

Historic Oakwood Cemetery~
701 Oakwood Avenue~
~
Historic Oakwood Cemetery contains a special area within its 102 acres-C- the Confederate Cemetery-C- located on the original two and one-half acres given for that purpose by Henry Mordecai in 1867. Herein lie nearly 1-C-500 Confederate soldiers. Adjoined with the Confederate Cemetery is the impressive House of Memory. Erected in 1935 to commemorate those brave soldiers of the Confederacy-C- today its bronze memorial plaques recognize the many North Carolina service men and women who have served our country in times of conflict.~

This simple farmhouse was located between Confederate General Johnston`s headquarters in Greensboro and Union General Sherman`s headquarters in Raleigh-C- North Carolina. In 1865 the two officers met at the Bennett Place-C- where they signed surrender papers for southern armies in the Carolinas-C- Georgia-C- and Florida. Today James Bennett`s reconstructed farmhouse-C- kitchen-C- and smokehouse recall the lifestyle of an ordinary Southern farmer during the Civil War.~

We need you help in many ways. ~

~
For questions about sponsorship-C- level availability-C- invoicing-C- or tax paperwork please email Mike Hardee-C- No Rules Riders® Foundation Vice President at mhardee88@gmail.com~
~
2. We need your help getting donations. ~
We need door prizes to raffle off the day of the event. Gift card-C- gift certificates and items that fit in a saddle back like t-shirts and hat go over well. We will take bigger items as well~
We need items to go in the bags we hand out to the athletes. We are providing sun glasses and a bandana because they have liked that in the past. We sometimes get gift certificates to like Wendy’s or McDonald’s or to family fun centers like putt putt or bowling. ~
We think we will have around 450 athletes.~
~
3. We will need volunteers the day of the Event to help. We need people to help with registration at Ray Price-C- help selling shirts at the ball field and managing door prizes and selling tickets at Moonrunners.~
~
4. We need help posting fliers around town. Contact Mike Hardee and he can either email you the flier so you can print some or he can meet up with you after work and get you however many copies you want.~
~
5. Last but most important: WE NEED BIKERS. Historically-C- we have gotten NRR riders and maybe a few of your friends. We would like to reach out to other biker associations and groups and invite them to come to the event. If you know someone that rides with a certain group ask them to make it an event for their group to come support the Miracle League-C- because it is all about the kids. If there is a group and they want someone to come to the meeting and talk about the ride-C- we can schedule that. ~
And as always bring all your friends-C- acquaintances and that guy in the neighborhood that you see washing his bike every Saturday but never riding (we will put him at the back of the pack)!~

RNNR Remembrance Ride!!
For those who wanna ride a little before we meet up at Moon Runners just send email out with suggestions. If not lets just hang!!!! Bring pictures.....stories...etc of those loved ones!!!!~
Hope to see you all there!!!!!!!!!!~
Last Yr I believe was NRR`s first Remembrance get together was a nice idea and brought remembrance to those who have passed to ride in heaven................~
~
Well this year NRR will be kicking it up a few notches!!!!!!!!!! We are going to have a REAL get together plus a RIDE!!!~
We are going to have NRR Remembrance Ride Get together!!! Since this will be the first time doing this I did not know where to start so I just started with the first and only memorial ride I have ever been on for NRR.~
This year for the Remembrance ridde we will be riding to 2 locations............First we will meet at Moon Runners at 11 am and KSU at NOON. Then ride to the crash site of Kevin Conroy on HWY 50 in Benson-C-NC. There will stop and pay our respects too Kevin-C-Lay flowers and cross. If anyone wishes to say a few words then head out. Second stop on way back to Garner we will visit the home of Steve-C-Jackie and Antonio(MOE) where the ashes of late Jen Chapman lay. This is Jen`s parents and her daughter`s home. ~
Thare we will present them with flowers and a Memorial Plaque from her NRR family! If anyone wishes to say anything to the family may do so! Pay our respects to Jen then head out to Moon Runners where we can have our get together and remember all other fallen NRR members!!! We should be back to Moon Runners around 3pm.~
~
Next year we have talked about it already and will mention it at Moon Runners when we get back for the get together! Wether a grave site-C-home or wherever they may be resting! Every remembrance ride we shall pay respect to a different Fallen member. Hopefully we will not have to continue doing this! I dont want any more members leaving us!~
~
I have spoken to all parties involved in this and I have been given their blessings so hopefully I will have all of yours!~
If anyone wishes to contribute to the cost of the plaque and flowers it will be much appriciated! I went weds. to price the plaque and cost will run around $70. Flowers can vary but I know I want to get really nice ones for Jen`s Parents.~
Remembrance Ride will be led by Dave and Carrie. I have asked them to due to the fact that Jen was very close to them along with Jen`s daughter and family. Also-C- Dave and Carrie were with Keving the day that his life was taken by someone with road rage that ran Kevin off the road that night while ridding with Dave and Carrie so I thought it was only right that they lead this ride!~
We will meet at Moon Runners at 11 am. KSU at NOON...........We should be back at Moon Runners around 3pm.....~
I really hope to see many of NRR members for that day. I have spoken to Jackie and she is really happy that this is happening!~
I really wanted to do something special for this day. I didnt want this to just be a get together at bar and drink. I wanted to make this day a true remebrance day that NRR is putting together now!~
Like I said after the rides we can head back to Moon Runners where we can get together and remember ALL fallen NRR members and we can plan who to pay respects for next yrs. ride!!~
Remember the day...................JUNE 7TH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~
~
PS......Like always-C--C-for those who have FaceBook please pass this on! for me!~
Thank you..............~

ITEM ::1: After the ride on January 20th-C- we will be moving the rides to Thursdays. This is a 4-week trial to meet ridership requests. ~
~
ITEM ::2// Steve (that`s me) won`t be riding next week and probably the week after that. On my way home from The Villages Scooter Club //final// meeting on Wednesday (January 13th) my bike and I went down at Stillwater -And- Odell (about a mile from my home). The bike suffered some body damage-C- and will be going into the shop for repairs. I don`t know yet how long it will be sidelined. ~
~
As far as my condition goes-C- as many of you know I wear an armored riding jacket-C- gloves-C- ankle-high boots and on this day had my full-face helmet. My gear did exactly what it was supposed to do. My head hit the pavement and the helmet absorbed all the shock. I came down on my upper right arm-C- and the jacket absorbed all the energy-C- resulting in no //road rash.// My right ankle smacked the ground-C- but the boot protected it. So-C- other than a bruised ego-C- some muscle strain and a pair of jeans which got abused and ripped-C- I`m okay. BOTTOM LINE: I wear all-the-gear-C- all-the-time - and it paid for itself this time! What about you?

~
For questions or information please email Mike Hardee-C- No Rules Riders® Foundation Vice President at mhardee88@gmail.com

RNNR Remembrance Ride!!!

Genghis Khan Run
~
Me and some rider buddies here in Beijing have put together an amazing ride through Inner Mongolia we call the Genghis Khan Run and are reaching out to fellow bikers around the world in an effort to market it.~
~
The bikes we use are Chiang Jiang 750 which are the Chinese Military models that are to this day still built from 1938 WWII BMW plans passed to the Chinese army way back then. They are not of course strictly speaking BMWs but are the closest tour experience to riding the original bikes so we thought it may appeal to your members.~
~
12 days on Classic Military CJ750 Sidecars-C- with vintage 212 support jeeps-C- full crew-C- camping-C- village stays and //out there// hardly ridden China outback touring with all expenses included-C- and a percentage going to upcountry kids education along the way.~
~
Organised by a few guys who love riding-C- have ridden all over the place in Asia and the world who want other guys to have the same amazing time. Its created with a //toys for boys// attitude and is light on the fuss and heavy on the fun. Rough enough to make it real but with quality and comfort just where you need it. Not too many rules (just a few for safety) and then lots of freedom and an easy going but awesome riding schedule. All through amazing outback China down to the Great Wall and Beijing.~
~
We are not offering it through regular travel agency channels and hope to only run a few trips a season with like minded fellow bikers. We`d love to know what you think and please drop us a line if you think you may have some guys interested and please feel free to pass it around. We`re happy to make dates suit anytime between May and September. All details are in our brochure I could send you if you are interested-C- or check our website: ~

And theres a special deal for organisers of trips which earns them their very own CJ750 built to their spec and delivered home to their door.~
